SEATTLE ANNUAL SEXWORK SYMPOSIUM

SASS is a festival celebrating the voices and human rights of people with sexy professions, hosted by SWOP-Seattle. SASS amplifies the voices and contributions of sex workers through art, documentary film, performance. SASS is also a fundraiser for SWOP-Seattle, a local Chapter of the Sex Workers Outreach Project USA

Our wellness day and community brunch for sexy professionals is for current and former sex workers. Join us for a catered brunch and round table conversations in a private venue, and participate in the Wellness Day event upstairs! We will have a variety of organizations and individuals sharing information on available services and resources, with on-site testing and bodywork offerings. Every participant in the Wellness Day event will be entered to win prizes!

As in their professions, sex workers tend to approach activism with bold creativity. This evening will feature two major new works inspired by the socio-political state of sex work in the USA. Project Oratio is a derivative dance performance response to SESTA & FOSTA, which features collected stories of sex workers impacted by these laws. This evening includes the world debut of The War on Whores – Shouldn’t Consenting Adults be Left Alone, a documentary film that examines the timeline the anti-trafficking movement, and what sex working communities are doing in response to increased criminalization and stigma. We’re back for night two of The Art of Activism, a evening which celebrates the creativity of the sex worker rights movement. Tonight we offer our second showing of Project Oratio , a derivative dance performance response to SESTA & FOSTA, featuring collected stories from sex workers. Second act of our show is a no-holds-barred assessment of the impact of SESTA, with heaps of gorgeous pictures and videos of sex workers fighting the f*ck back.
