Secretary of Education Betsy DeVos and the Trump administration have a set of plans to accelerate the attack on public education that has been going on for years. Rather than put money where it is sorely needed – to reduce class sizes, increase access to instructional supports, or hire more school staff – DeVos intends to defund the Department of Education and open schools up to more private and corporate control. Teachers, students, parents, and community members are going to be central to building opposition to these attacks on our schools. Join us for a discussion about what that fight looks like today and how you can get involved.
We will also be getting ready to attend the local protest of DeVos when she speaks in Bellevue on Oct. 13.
