Charleena Lyles, a pregnant mother of four, was murdered by Seattle cops on Sunday. Her children witnessed the cops kill their mother and then had to leave the apartment by being carried over her body. Community members from across the city will be taking action this week to demand justice for Charleena from the city and the Seattle Police Department. If you believe that Black Lives Matter, please come out to one of these events.
- Social Equality Educators is organizing a protest of teachers, students and community members on Tuesday, June 20 at Magnuson Park (7400 Sand Point Way NE) at 5pm. They will march from the park to the location of the press conference at Brettler Place Apartments at 6pm. They are also encouraging teachers to wear Black Lives Matter shirts to school tomorrow.
- Not This Time is holding a press conference and rally on Tuesday, June 20 at Brettler Place Apartments (6940 62nd Ave NE), where Charleena lived, at 6pm. Activists from the ISO will be going from this rally to our meeting at 7pm.
- Black Freedom Front Seattle is calling for a march on Thursday, June 22 at 6pm at Westlake Park (401 Pine St.)
