Seattle DSA is proud to a host a screening of the documentary film, “The Murder of Fred Hampton.” The film documents the 1969 assassination of Hampton, the leader of the Illinois Chapter of the Black Panther Party, at the hands of the Chicago Police Department and the FBI. You can read more about the film here:

Special guest Elmer Dixon will join us to introduce the film and lead a short discussion after. Dixon attended Garfield High School, where he helped organize the school’s first Black Student Union in 1968. That same year, along with his brother Aaron, he co-founded the Seattle chapter of the Black Panther Party. He now works as a diversity consultant. You can read more about Elmer here:

You do not need to be a Seattle DSA member to attend the screening. The event is free AND there will be free popcorn, but we do ask for a suggested donation of $5. We hope you can join us! Note about accessibility: The theater has a ramp but there are two small steps at the entrance. Please email if you are someone who uses a wheelchair or other mobility device.
