The new tax on big business in Seattle is a step forward both in addressing the needs of homeless people in the city, and also in terms of setting a precedent that capitalists should pay their fair share. It is still embattled, though, because Amazon and other major corporations are waging a fight to overturn it, using scare tactics and threatening economic collapse.
